The RADARS System provides prescription drug abuse data to a variety of organizations including:
  • Pharmaceutical manufacturers who monitor the safe and illegal use of their products (including brand and generic manufacturers),
  • Regulatory agencies,
  • Policymakers,
  • Public health officials, and
  • Other interested parties.
The RADARS System collects postmarketing surveillance data on a quarterly basis providing rapid information to identify signal sites for abuse, misuse and diversion and the ability to track trends over time. This data collection process provides critical information for the assessment of Abuse Deterrent Formulations (ADFs) and is an essential tool for the support of Risk Evaluation and Mitigation Strategies (REMS).
